We live in Florida which has no State tax, so we claim the general sales tax, but for 2 or 3 months last year, my husband worked in Georgia which collected State tax. We paid a little over 1100 in state tax to Georgia, and our sales tax would be around 1018. Can we claim both?

You have to choose one method. Either the sales tax or the income tax. You cannot claim both.
