If your brother's name is on the house, then he is responsible to pay the taxes. If no one pays the property tax, then the county has the right to auction out the house. Because your mother doesn't own the house, and she has litter income to pay the property tax, then it is up to you and your brother to help.

If she is the solo owner of the house, her name on the deed, and there is no other owner, then she has to pay the tax.

Have you tried to do a reverse mortgage for the house for your mother? That way she could have some income.

Can someone please give advice to help my mom with the property taxes she has. The house is now in my brothers name, is it his responsiblity to pay the taxes? If he donot pay the taxes should by mom have to leave the house that she and my dad lived in for a long period of time. They spend a lot of money in the house.
