My husband and myself filed our taxes a few wks ago but found out this wk that the Federal Goverment has taken the check over money my husband owed before I was married to him. I went to H& R Block and then filed Insured spouse. How long will it take for me to get my return and how much will I be getting back?

Having filed 1040X's I have worked with IRS before. It may take up to 16 weeks to look at your refile. Then you will get a written reply after the review. Your best bet is to call the IRS your self. I would do that every two weeks and follow the progress. When you do call them make sure that you get the name and ID number from each and everyone that you come in contact with.
