I know a person who has been unemployed for a year and is still drawing unemployment because of all of the extensions. That is all well and good, except in November of 2009, this person bought a bar. And this preson is still drawing unemployment because this person said that their accountant told them that they could keep getting their unemployment as long as they didn't "draw" from the business. How can this be true?? And this person says that they do $500.00 in business a night. I'm sure if this person needs money, they don't write a check to themselves. It doesn't seem right to me that they are still getting their unemployment and be a business owner. This person also told me the reason they were still drawing their unemployment was because the bar was losing money and they weren't making any money. Yeah,,,right!
Do you know what the truth is here???
I've already tried...

You might not want to hear this, but I think the truth is what you have written here. As long as the person is not earning more than the weekly amount that would disqualify that person from receiving the benefits, the eligibility remains.
According to Step 5 at the above URL, the person would still need to look for work, though.
