Customers can also work online with an accountant (without ever leaving your computer). Accountants are able to market their practices on quality and convenience to get more clients and retain their current clients.
Our Founder
Amit Vemuri, CEO
Teaspiller was founded in 2009. In the years leading up to the founding of Teaspiller, Amit was an internet entrepreneur and former VP at Travelocity, who always had difficulty finding a quality accountant for his small businesses or personal taxes—and didn’t want to waste time walking into an accountant’s office. He decided there had to be an easier way.
Our Name
Amit was in a library reading up on tax and accounting history (he’s strange) and came upon an American History dictionary. It had an old editorial reference to the Boston Tea Party protestors as “teaspillers”.
He thought it was a great name for a maverick startup trying to change the current tax & accounting regime.
And, of course, he likes tea.
